In this land surrounded by the sea, Fish and seafood had to be in the spotlight. The Nazaré fish stew, grilled sardines and mackerel, the fish with pasta and the fish cataplana (stew in a copper steamer) are some of the specialties of Nazaré.

Other delicacies you will enjoy are the dry mackerel or the famous carapau enjoado (less sun-drying hours and salt). This dish is a specialty that can only be found in Nazaré.
